Site Appraisals

The undertaking of site appraisals allows landowners or developers to be informed about the options available to them in making the right decision for the future of the site.

The first step is often to visit the site. During this visit, the physical context of the site is reviewed and the objectives of the client are explored.

The purpose of a site appraisal is to establish the use of the land and examine options for its development, both in the short, medium or longer term. In establishing the strategy to be adopted, it is necessary to:

  • research planning history of the site;
  • examine the context of the Development Plan - identifying relevant policies and guidance
  • note any constraints which may influence the site and its development.

We can then outline options for the land in planning terms and set out a clear strategy for our clients to progress a proposal, to either pre application or planning application stage.
